This session explores the transformative shifts reshaping the payments landscape, examining how emerging technologies and regulatory frameworks are redefining financial services. Drawing from real-world implementations across global financial institutions, we will discuss: Account-to-Account (A2A) payment systems and their disruption of traditional payment rails; Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) and stablecoin initiatives; the strategic adoption of AI in banking operations-highlighting current gaps and untapped opportunities; and tokenisation as a foundational enabler in transforming banking infrastructure and unlocking innovation across payments, assets, and digital value exchange.
